Back in June 2015 the Curves were part of Wheels & Waves – a custom motorcycle festival in South France.
We packed our bikes in Berlin and picked up JVB Moto -Jens vom Brauck in Cologne.
In the van we had ‘The Dominator’ – 1988 Honda NX 650 Dominator, Irene’s brand new 80s trash bike in mint and blue. Cäthe’s Kawasaki W650 including a great selection of her self-made, bright-coloured BIKEinis and Jens’ Yamaha MT07.

An alchemy was born in Biarritz, a few years ago. Some universal and international groups bonded and formed a new network. ‚Going big might be bad?‘ …a little group of 400 people came to enjoy Wheels & Waves in the beginning and this year it grew fast with almost 10.000 visitors. One might mourn the loss of the familiar atmosphere, but there’s something about Wheels & Waves 2015 that we is still very special. Probably nowhere else you can easily bump into so many stars of the scene than in cité de l’océan Biarritz in June!

We came across a lot of art and exhibitions around bikes focussing this year on Japan. The BMW Custom Project featured four top custom workshops from japan: Shiro Nakajima, Brat Style, Hidemo and Cherry’s Company.
On the other side of the aisle you had a chat with Shun Miyazawa, chief of the Yamaha Yard Built program and get a closer look at the VMAX ‚Infrared‘ by JVB Moto, XJR1300 ‚Dissident‘ by itroCkS!bike or XJR1300 ‘Botafogo-N’ by Numbnut Motorcycles. Of course random punks that are showing up since the beginning were favoured by Irene…Maxwell Paternoster ‚Corpses from Hell‚  and James from Kingdom of Kicks.

Cäthe’s favourite introduction was Shinja Kimura, one of the world’s most famous custom motorcycle builders, who liked the ‚Norwegian BIKEini‘ covering her motorcycle tank… ‚boy oh boy‘.

But needless to say we met great people and old friends. We had a hell of a good party! We wrestled the rain and bad swimming/surfing conditions! The best of it all: we came across great biker ladys:

Aileen, big time world traveller. She is the Moto Quest,
Maike from Kickstarter Classics (2nd time racing the ‘Punks Peak Race!),
Sahra from Harley Davidson in London
Nina, all the way from Australia and Co-Founder of the The Throttle Dolls MC.
Micha came with her BMW from Austria. She shares her Storys in Kraftherz

Next year we are planning to hit the ‘Dirtquake’ in King’s Lynn, UK!

So exited – we can’t hide it!
